Hi my name is Claire, I have two daughters Terry-lea 13 and Rhiannon 11. We come from Co.durham area. We started showing our rabbits in November 2006. Our stud name is Playgirls Stud. We are currently doing very well. Our best sucesses have been runner-up BIS, Best lops, BOBs and my daughters have got best juniors. So not bad in our first year lol.
How it all started
I got two pet rabbits for my daughters off a friend. One was a blue otter netherland dwarf and the other was a tri coloured dutch cross dwarf lop. We then went to one of our local agricultural shows and I noticed their was a rabbit for sale so I contacted the owner which was Sandra Grainger. He was a new breed a mini lion lop and he was rung so I asked what it was for, Sandra told me you have to have a ring on your rabbit to show it and she told me you have to be a member of the BRC. So I bought the lion lop which we called Blue and we made ourselves members of the BRC. I also bought another lion lop off Sandra, she has helped me and my daughters alot when we first started. We went to our first show Wallsend I got 1st and a CC with Blue. We met Julie Pooke and Paul Lyons and they asked us if we wanted to have a look at their stud and to tell us what we should be looking for in a rabbit. We bought two rew dwarf lops and an agouti dwarf lop off Julie and Paul. Who have helped us out alot too. We went to a few more shows and were doing well. That was it we were hooked lol!
